Day 1 & 2: Evening departure
for an overnight flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, a local
guide will meet the group and assist with the transfer to
the hotel. After check in the group will have time to unpack
and relax. The group will have a free afternoon to shop and
explore. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.
Day 3: After breakfast the group
will begin a guided tour of Istanbul. Visiting such sights
as Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome. We will
also pay a visit to Topkapi and the Rumeli Fortress. We will
have dinner at a nearby restaurant before returning to our
hotel for the night.
Day 4: After breakfast the group
will check out and drive to Kusadasi. Upon arrival we will
check into our hotel and have a free afternoon. We’ll
have dinner in Kusadasi.
Day 5: After breakfast, the group
will travel to Ephesus. Once there we will have a guided tour
of this ancient city. We will visit a stadium where chariot
races were once held. We will also pay a visit to a carpet
village and learn about the rich Turkish tradition of carpet
weaving. After the tour we will continue on to Palmukkale.
Upon arrival we will check into our hotel and have dinner
at a nearby restaurant.
Day 6: After breakfast we will
start our guided tour, where we will view the beautiful white
calcium terraces of the city. Next we will make our way to
the ancient city of Hieropolis, where we can relax in the
hot springs dating back Roman times. Our next stop is Konya;
upon arrival we’ll check into our hotel and have dinner
at a local restaurant.
Day 7: After breakfast, we will
visit the Mevlana Museum and then make our way to the Silk
Road Caravanserais. As we travel through the beautiful Ihlara
Valley, we will stop to explore one of the world’s largest
underground cities, Derinkuyu. Next we’ll make our way
to the city of Cappadocia, where we will have dinner before
checking into our hotel.
Day 8: After breakfast, we will
visit the Goreme Valley, the fairy chimneys and Uchisar Castle.
In the afternoon we will start the journey back to Istanbul.
Upon our arrival we will check into our hotel and have dinner
at a nearby restaurant. The group will have a free evening.
Day 9: After breakfast, we will
check out of the hotel and depart for the airport for the
return flight home. |
